Antenna systems /
Array processing Engineer
IMST GmbH (http://www.imst.com) is an independent design & test house for
RF, electronics and software. It has over 10 years experience in the
development of mobile radio systems and microelectronics. More than 140
engineers develop customer specific devices or applications. The service
provided covers the whole design flow, starting with ideas for new products up
to the actual implementation & product qualification, and even
manufacturing.
A main focus is the development of wireless terminals for mobile communications
and satellite communications. This covers anything from small RF modules up to
complex satellite communication terminals for ships, cars and planes. IMST's
customers include both large enterprises and SMEs.
IMST is
developing steerable antennas for satellite communications, radar systems and
mobile communications. These systems range from multi-axis mechanically steered
antennas, to electronically steered antennas based on planar or conformal
arrays.
The
Array-Processing Team is responsible of the implementation of the antenna
steering. This includes not only the determination of the position of the
antenna itself based on the data gathered by sensors (data fusion), but also
techniques and algorithms for the estimation of the direction of arrival (DoA),
beamforming, beamsteering and tracking.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and
implementation of algorithms (DoA, beamforming, beamsteering) for
steerable antenna arrays
- Laboratory and field
tests
- Measurement campaigns
- Multidisciplinary and
project-oriented teamwork, direct contact with customers.
- Continuous training and
participation in international trade fairs and conferences
Qualifications:
- University
degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering. work experience
is not required, but would be a plus.
- Basic knowledge of
antenna technology, telecommunications and linear algebra.
- Experience with MS
Office, Matlab/Simulink, C/C++
- Good 3D orientation
capabilities
- Capable of working in a
team as well as autonomously showing initiative
- Good knowledge of
English is compulsory. The working language at IMST is German, so the
candidate must either have a knowledge of German, or be willing to learn
it. Other languages would also be appreciated.
