Course on 3D EM Simulation in the Wireless World
24 Oct. 2007
Time
9:30AM - 4:30PM
Location
Hi-Tech, Harmonieplein 1, 3603 BM Maarssen, Netherlands.
Fee
200.00 EUR
This course is for wireless designers, developers, researchers and other interested technicians, who are working on antennas and their environment. Applications of interest includes PIFA antenna on printed circuit board, patch antenna design, horn antenna, arrays, RFID, SAR, EMI/EMC, amongst others.
The course commences with an introduction to 3D EM field simulation, how it works and the methods involved. Following on from there will be a practical hands-on session with the state-of-the-art 3D EM software environment CST STUDIO SUITE 2008 covering the import of a 3D structure, definition of necessary settings and simulation in both the time- and frequency-domains.
Discussion of results covering topics such as:
- Far- and Near-field analysis
- Visualisation of current flow
- SAR and EMC issues
- Integration of 3D EM simulation into the design workflow and antenna matching circuit simulation
- Parameterisation and optimisation of imported structures
- Obtaining reliable results
At the end of the course additional time will be available for specific questions.
After the seminar you will not only have obtained a good overview of the different methods available in state of the art 3D EM field simulation but also be able to perform your own simulations.
Computing resources for the practical hands-on exercise section will be available. After successful completion you will receive a certificate of participation.
There is a registration deadline 2 weeks prior to training and subject to availability (group will be 3-8 people).
