The IET/ EURASIP Third Conference on DSP-Enabled Radio
13-14 September,2007
Glasgow, UK
In the past decade, digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and architectures for baseband processing have brought applications such as 3G mobile communications and wireless LAN to mass markets. Since then, further progress in DAC and ADC technology has permitted DSP to be applied at IF sampling rates up to several hundred MHz, which has opened up a large range of advanced DSP algorithms to be deployed for potentially reconfigurable communications system functions such as modulation, synchronisation, equalisation, coding, and many more.
This development is expected to continue, and opportunities such as software defined radio (SDR) architectures forming the basis for cognitive radios for improved spectrum efficiency and reliable and ubiquitous communication are likely to become reality within the next couple of years.
This third IET/EURASIP conference will comprise of an invited keynote speaker, a number of invited contributions on key topics, oral presentations, poster sessions, and a small industrial exhibition for companies demonstrating the latest hardware and software for DSP-enabled radio.
