Course on Antennas and Radiowave Propagation

This course provides participants with comprehensive coverage of a wide variety of antennas and propagation topics related to numerous communication systems with a particular emphasis on military applications. The course presents fundamental theory together with techniques for the practical design, measurement and application of antennas over the RF (radio-frequency) to millimeter wave frequency range.

Younger members evening

Win one of two £250 prizes. These prizes will be given to those younger members who give the ‘best’ presentation of a paper on a technical subject of their choice. It is planned that there will be four papers presented of 15 minutes each, including questions. The papers will be judged by a panel of local IET members looking not only for technical competency, but also on presentation, use of audio visual aids etc. If you want to present a paper contact Steve Potts in the first instance. “What defines a younger member?” Rather than tie this definition down to a specific age, for this event it includes members up to those established in mid-career. All entrants must be IET members, male or female, everyone is welcome.

IEEE ICRFID 2008

IEEE International Conference on RFID 2008
The IEEE International Conference on RFID – IEEE RFID – is the premier international technical conference series bringing together leading researchers, developers, integrators, and visionaries to discuss and expand their knowledge of technologies, systems, networks, algorithms, and applications that support the development and adoption of RF-based wireless communications and identification systems. IEEE RFID 2008 is the second annual conference dedicated to addressing the technical and policy challenges in the areas of radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, their supporting large-scale distributed information systems, and their applications.

IEEE RFID 2008 is a highly selective conference focusing on wireless identification and sensing systems, security features and approaches appropriate for these systems, technical and policy-related research and solutions on the technologies, design, manufacture, deployment, and application of RFID systems and their supporting information systems and application infrastructures. This conference is ideal for addressing the challenges facing the design, manufacture, deployment, use, and fundamental limits of wireless identification and sensing systems.
